On Friday, November 4, 2022, in the beautiful weather and charming autumn scenery, the Han Costume Cultural Tour of BC Mandarin School was successfully completed.
The theme of this cultural tour is "the historical and cultural elements of Han Costume". Our tour members tried on Han costumes together and learned about the etiquette of the Han nationality, the design of Han costumes in different dynasties, and the cultural elements hidden in Han costumes through the introduction and interesting games led by the doctor of Beijing Normal University.
Look how beautiful (handsome) our BC members and teachers are in Han Costume. These are Han costumes from Han Dynasty, Wei and Jin Dynasties, Tang Dynasty, Song Dynasty, and Ming Dynasty. Can you see the difference between them?
"Hello" may be the first word we learned in Chinese. How did we greet each other in ancient times? Women can say "wàn fú", while men can bow their hands.
The teacher's introduction vividly dug into the history and culture of Han costume, which is again admirable and fascinating. Everyone said that they had "gained knowledge". It turns out that there are many ingenious and artistic designs of Han costumes in different dynasties, and there are interesting stories behind them! Such as: Why is this skirt called "Fairy Skirt"? The Han costume in the Tang Dynasty is integrated with a multi-ethnic design; The flying fish costume in the Ming Dynasty is so cool!
“The emperor’s costume” game led to the climax of our activity. Guess which patterns can be on the emperor's clothes? What meaning do they represent?
In this activity, we not only experienced the cultural glamour of fine Han costumes but also turned the scene into a thousand-year Han costume show.
Accompanied by delicious food and beers, teachers and tour members gathered together. Everyone said that this is a day of great benefit and they are looking forward to the next cultural tour.
