BC Mandarin School held mooncake DIY event on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Teachers, students and friends celebrated the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival.
In this event, the teachers prepared healthy and low-sugar snow skin mooncakes. From making the snow skin, to filling, to making patterns, and finally to packing ,foreign friends shared new experiences together.
We also shared the words and sentences related to Mid-Autumn Festival. For example, in Chinese when you express the meaning of "admire the moon",【赏月shǎng yuè】 is a higher level term than【看月亮kàn yuè liang】.
And we shared why Beijing people like rabbit doll【兔儿爷tùr yé】,finally we introduce sweet moon cakes VS salty moon cakes.
During lunch, we shared stories and videos about the summer vacation. With joy and laughter, the Mooncake DIY Workshop has come to a successful conclusion. In the future, we are looking forward to host more interesting Chinese culture events for you!
